PROPERTY DETAILS
Nestled on the eastern edge of a long abandoned farm building dating back to the 1700s, dry stone walls giving shelter to shepherds and livestock for centuries, have been restored using sandstone from the original site. Natural and reclaimed materials have been used as much as possible, such as the sheeps wool insulation to keep you cosy and warm in the winter months.
Indoors, a wood-fired stove with hotplate awaits, while the veranda boasts a gas burner, hot plate, and BBQ. For the adventurous souls, an outdoor cooking tripod with swing grill and a Dutch oven beckon, enticing you to prepare a feast over a crackling fire pit.
Throughout the Estate there are countless species of birds, with barn owls even choosing the ruins of the adjacent byre as their nesting spot. Hares and deer can often be spotted gracefully bounding across the pasture. After a fulfilling day of exploring the untamed beauty of the local area, indulging in the nearby pubs or restaurants, or venturing further to the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, return home to unwind in the wood fired hot tub, as you gaze up at the dark night skies

Here are a few reviews from our lovely guests...
We had the most relaxing weekend at Longriggs. It felt as though time stood still in that little cabin on top of the hill. The set up was perfect and it was as private as could be. All amenities were amazingly thought out and the bath tub outside is a great touch to be at one with nature! We'll 100% be visiting again and would recommend to anyone looking for a taste of tranquility within the Northumbrian countryside.
We had a lovely stay in the beautiful countryside. Everything about Longriggs made the visit incredibly special from the cosy log burner to the unique outdoor bath! There are so many facilities in and outside the barn. John has done an excellent job with the interior, it’s absolutely amazing!
We stayed at Longriggs to visit family in Northumberland, but also to have a rural break away from London. The barn was clearly a labour of love for the owner John with a lot of thought going in to every aspect. The result was a great balance between home comforts and outdoor living. Great cooking facilities outside with both gas and a camp fire, an outside bath to soak under the stars, but also a great bathroom with shower inside and of course the wood burning stove. Superb all round and lovely rural spot away from any neighbours. Perfect.
